Introducing Microsoft Sharepoint 2007

Microsoft Sharepoint Server 2007 ( MOSS ) is a product sold by Microsoft which has been used by several organizations to provide comprehensive content management and enterprise search, implements and streamline the business processes and facilitates information sharing that is essential for Organizational growth. It also helps to conduct effective searches for people, documents, and data, participate in forms-driven business processes, and access and analyze large amounts of business data. It can be used to host web sites that access shared workspaces and documents, as well as specialized applications like wikis and blogs from a browser. Sharepoint sites are actually ASP.NET 2.0 applications, which are served using IIS and use a SQL Server database as data storage backend. Like most portal products, SharePoint allows visitors to create custom views of the Web site. This customization can be very simple or very complex, depending on the type and version of the product that is installed.

Difference between MOSS and WSS

Windows SharePoint Services is a component of the Windows Server 2003 information worker infrastructure and provides team services and sites to Microsoft Office System and other desktop programs. It also serves as a platform for application development.

Building a portal in MOSS 2007

For creating a portal in MOSS 2007, follow the steps given below.

• Create a web application

• Create Site collection

Create a web application

1. Go to Start All Programs Microsoft Office ServerSharepoint 3.0 Central Administration.

It opens up the Central Administration page of the Sharepoint server.

2. Select the tab ‘Application Management’.

3. Click on ‘Create or extend Web Application’

4. Click on ‘Create a new web application’. It opens the Web Application creation page. Give values for Description and Port for IIS web site or leave it as default ( as all the values are used for backend governance). You may have to select the Security account as ‘Network Service’ under Application pool. Click on OK.

Create Site Collection

1. In the Application Management section of the central administration page, Click on ‘Create Site Collection’ link present under the section ‘Sharepoint site management’.

2. Select the web application. Enter the Title and Description of the site and URL. Select the template. You have to give the owners of the site also. Click on OK.

3. After a while, the site collection gets created and displays a page with the URL of the Site as shown below.

“Priyanka is now a sexy girl next door”

Tarun Mansukhani is mighty pleased with the kind of response he is getting for the bodies that John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra have acquired for DOSTANA. Accolodes have been coming in from all quarters as both John and Priyanka ignite the heat in their pursuit for acquiring best bodies in the town.

“While John has worked hard on his physique and made sure that heads (belonging to both women and men) turn around him wherever he goes, I am not surprised since he seems to have been born with a six pack abs. What amazes me though is the strange body that Priyanka Chopra has”, says Tarun Mansukhani, debutant director who is beginning his innings with this Karan Johar production.

How exactly?

“Well, she eats so much and doesn’t even work out much. Still, she manages to hold her figure. I guess it’s her metabolism that allows her to be this way. With DOSTANA, she could well be termed as a sexy girl next door”, smiles Tarun.

Abhishek seems to be just the same though as in all his films, isn’t it?

“In fact Abhi too has gone through some transformation as he was still working on DRONA when DOSTANA began. He was in fact the fittest since even when John would be tired, he would push him to get back on his feet and face the camera”, reveals Tarun.

But he doesn’t seem to be flaunting his body the way John is in the film. Why is that case?

Defends Tarun, “See the film and you would know for yourself. The kind of body type that he is carrying is something like is required for the character. It is truly in conjunction with the film. In any case, Abhi is a completely changed person for DOSTANA and is looking really fantastic.”

When fate lands him in a slum, after his initial disappointment, he smooth talks his way out of trouble. He finds himself to be more intelligent than the average street guy and he takes full advantage of this fact to turn things around to his benefit. He thinks there is no harm in lying to get the things you want badly

All said and done, Romeo’s heart is still in the right place. He’s great guy. He’s a dude!!!

Kareena Kapoor as Laila

Laila’s the hottest female dog ever and she knows it! She is the lead singer and dancer at the Moonlight Nightclub. This is where all the males throng every week when she performs. There isn’t a male guy alive in the slum who doesn’t dream of dancing with the beautiful, Laila some day. She’s not only got the looks, but the talent to sing and dance and heaps of attitude and arrogance to go with it too.

In spite of the large list of admirers, Laila is a lonely girl, all thanks to Charlie Anna, the Don of the slum. He is besotted by her and everyone is terrified of his anger. The consequences of just talking to Laila, forget dancing with her, can be fatal and due to this, she has no friends. The girls are jealous of her and the guys scared of Charlie’s wrath.

She dreams of finding a sweet, honest and brave guy who will have the courage to be friends with her, dance with her, in spite of whatever Charlie may feel. Even though she is the hottest girl, inside she’s a sweetheart.

Javed Jaffrey as Charlie Anna

Charlie Anna is the dreaded Don of the slum. Anna means big brother and that’s what everyone calls him out of fear. He is the cause of fear in everyone’s heart. He’s a dirty, fat and ugly dog with a big bouncy belly.

Charlie Anna is a pompous old fool who loves nothing more than hearing his praises.

His moods are unpredictable and that is what makes him dangerous, yet at heart he is a hopeless romantic, a softie with a tough exterior.

Vrajesh Hirjee as Guru

Guru is the oldest among the four goons. He is also the wisest among them, though that’s not saying much. The other three always look up to him like an elder brother for advice. He’s also a typical street ruffian.

Kiku Sharda as Hero English

Hero English is one of the four goons, part of the gang of friends in the slum. He’s a typical goon, a ruffian but a bit slow in the head, just like his three friends. Though he looks ferocious, he’s a harmless chap. He’s been born and brought up in this slum. Even though he has no clue, he’s always trying to speak in English, to a very comical effect.

Interval is the third member of the gang. He’s a total film buff.

Tannaz Irani as Mini

Mini is the last member of the gang of four. Mini is actually an alley cat who is a wannabe stray dog. She looks up to Guru, Hero English and Interval and wants to be just like them. She is in denial that she is a cat. She refuses to accept that and thinks of herself as a stray dog much to the annoyance of her three friends who keep trying to drill some sense into her that she is no dog, but just an ordinary alley cat.

Synopsis

This is the story of Romeo. A dog who was living a life of complete style. He was a complete dude. He had the works - a mansion to live in, chicks to party with and the cars to be driven around in, until one day, the family he was the favourite pet of, decided to move and left him back, abandoned on the mean streets of Mumbai.

Romeo is now faced with situations he has never been in before. He encounters four stray dogss, who scare the living daylights out of him. Soon, he smooth talks his way into their hearts and becomes friends with them.

Then, Romeo finds love! He encounters the beautiful, ravishing Laila, the most beautiful female dog he has ever seen… and he loses his heart to her at first sight!

And finally, he encounters a villain! The dreaded Don of the area - Charlie Anna! The Don who everyone is scared of.
